Discover projects developed by girls in STEAM that propose solutions to real world problems.
This is an opportunity for the media, industry, parents and teachers to hear from young people – the future leaders of innovation – about their views on STEAM industries and Australia’s economic and social priorities.
2–3pm: STEAM fair with stalls displaying projects
3–5pm: Presentations from STEAMpunk Girls participants
STEAMpunk Girls is an educational program that advocates for young women (aged 12 to 16) to participate in the innovation conversation. This program exposes students to the science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM) industries and female role models working with and across these fields. STEAMpunk Girls provides a safe and experimental environment that promotes a learn-by-doing mindset and encourages young women to apply interdisciplinary approaches to solving real world issues.
