Is regenerative medicine – the idea of replacing or regenerating human organs – science fiction or science fact? And what are stem cells – how can they cure disease and injury?
These are just two of the questions explored in this acclaimed exhibition showcasing the intersection between art and cutting edge science.
By contrasting the latest research with portraits of patients looking for cures, the exhibition entertains and empowers viewers to develop informed opinions on stem cell science, treatment and stem cell tourism.
Seen by over a million people across Australia since 2014, the exhibition, commissioned by the Australasian Society for Stem Cell Research, travels through the past, present and future of regenerative medicine to prove what is fact and what is fiction.
Witness spectacular colour images and portraits, an interactive mobile website, a captivating projection art video developed in collaboration with leading design firm Illuminart, alongside work from Australia’s leading stem cell researchers, including remarkable and world-first images of human eye tissue regenerated at Western Sydney University.
