Can Australia’s lizards cope with climate change?
Biologist Santiago Cuartas explains the different impacts of climate change on Australian fauna and the impact of climate change on interspecies relationships and ecosystems. Find out about the innovative approaches used by researchers and the Australian Government to mitigate species loss and conserve biodiversity.
Santiago Cuartas researchers the thermal ecology of nest site selection in Australian lizards. He does his field work in remote national parks where he searches inside crevices on the hunt for lizard nests. His aim is to understand nesting conditions across geographic distances in order to improve our understanding of how lizard populations respond to rising temperatures and shifts in climate.
