Go on the Science Safari with Macquarie University science students and visit six hands-on science adventure stations throughout the Garden. Meet scientists, botanical illustrators and horticulturalists and find out about the amazing work they do.

Visit the Harbourside Ponds to learn about aquatic life in fresh-waterways and the harbour. Meet frogs and tadpoles, and dive in with our marine algae botanist to find out all about the amazing world of seaweed.

At the Herbarium, see stunning plant specimens from our collection of over 1 million plants, then press your own plant specimen.

Learn about our local animal species with talks and animal interactions with Australian Wildlife Displays and Sydney Wildlife.

Visit the PlantClinic, our very own plant hospital, and peer down microscopes to get up close to some of the world’s smallest and most amazing organisms. Learn about some of the incredible research into the microscopic world of plant disease, and do your own DNA extraction!

At the Calyx you can dissect flowers, learn about pollination, and ‘see like a bee’ with UV light! We’ll also have insect displays and experts to talk about the hidden world of creepy-crawlies.
