Take a hands-on approach to science and meet the experts!

The Science Festival Expo gives students an immersive space where they can ask all the hard questions, try out some science experiments and investigate the science they encounter every day. Australia’s top science institutions and organsations come together to provide students with interactive booths where they can explore STEAM and get excited about the future of Science. Highlights this year focus on Game Changers and Change Makers.

Multiple organisations exhibiting including the Australian Museum, 3M, Macquarie University, University of Technology Sydney, University of New South Wales, Code Club Australia, Children’s Medical Research Institute, Victor Chang Cardiac Institute, Modfab 3D Printing, Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute, Australian National Maritime Museum, Australian National Fabrication Facility, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences and more….

Hands on science fun for all Stages.
•Primary School: 7–10 August
•High School: 14–17 August

This activity is part of the Sydney Science Festival celebrations for schools at the Australian Museum. Exciting discoveries and practical science will be brought to life with a unique program of hands-on activities, talks and explosive workshops, with a wide coverage of scientific fields and school curriculum links.

When you arrive at the Australian Museum you will find Elisa or one of our event coordinators (in a bright orange shirt) and our lovely volunteers (yellow shirts) waiting to greet you. Please see an event coordinator before going into the Museum for your activity.
