The Indigenous Science Experience at Redfern: School SessionsSchools
This three-day event for primary school students showcases the value of Indigenous knowledge in science and technology and the relevance of science to our everyday lives. Students will participate in a range of hands-on science activities demonstrated by Indigenous secondary students, Elders and community members and science outreach providers. Highlights will include yarning with Elders on bush foods and medicines, making Aboriginal tools, taking part in hands-on science activities, solving maths puzzles, and lots of other science and technology activities.
This event is part of the Sydney Science Festival during National Science Week. It is organised by the National Indigenous Science Education Program, Macquarie University, and hosted by Redfern Community Centre. It would not be possible without the support of Inspiring Australia and the City of Sydney.
